Welcome.
This is ‘Your Sanctuary.’
But it’s mine now.
Take it back…
…if you can.

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Reinhold Niebuhr, The Serenity Prayer

The bravest birds fly in the rain,
And then the soft sun through the drops
Decides some things will turn out bright,
One at a time then all at once.

An afternoon can feel so right,
The sky is smooth,
The day is wide,
A dry as safe as a home at night.

Everything has already been done. Every story has been told, every scene has been shot. It’s our job to do it one better.

Stanley Kubrick

I don’t keep a travel diary. I did keep a travel diary once and it was a big mistake. All I remember of that trip is what I bothered to write down. Everything else slipped away, as though my mind felt jilted by my reliance on pen and paper. For exactly the same reason I don’t travel with a camera. My holiday becomes the snapshots and anything I forget to record is lost.
